Nice, well known, well built radio by Candle Electronics, with 6 transistors

Made in Japan - 6 transistors - plays well - approx. 1962 - nice metal grill.

model 1482M

0007_53.jpg (80053 bytes)

Made in Japan approx 1968 - leather case with plastic front - AM radio - on the front is stated 14 transistors, there are 14 transistors on the pc-board, but only 6 are in the working circuit, 8 are soldered to dead end wires, making no contact with the working circuit, these 8 transistors look different compared to the working ones, they have a black plastic foil covered metal can and have strange printing on them. A thorough examination made clear that they are empty cans with no transistor-junction in it. They are a forgery - this is one of the radios in my collection that feign a number of working transistors -  supply 9V by a 006 P-cell.

Again a 14 transistor radio with 14 transistors on the pc-board, but only 6 are in the working circuit, 8 are soldered to dead end wires, making no contact with the working circuit, these 8 transistors look different compared to the working ones, they have no printing on the metal can. The other 6 working transistors are Hitachi germanium transistors. It is made in Japan by 201. Supply 9V by a 006 P-cell.
